Followup-To: Distribution: world Organization: University of Hawaii Keywords: I have heard that laptops in general do not last very long, have weird problems with memory and even the cases can crack and fall apart within a few weeks or months of purchase. Is this true? How many people have had a problem with the handles falling off or boxes cracking? How many other people have had a problem with bad chips? And finally, how many people have had a hard time getting their software to run because of system bugs? I was considering buying a laptop, but it would be a long term investment. I don't want to have it fall apart after 30 days. My last question is about mouse driven software. How many people use Windows on a PC Clone laptop and how do you take care of the mouse? Does the mouse have to be attached and detached every time you boot the laptop? Reply to me directly and I will summarize. >I have heard that laptops in general do not last very long, have weird >problems with memory and even the cases can crack and fall apart within >a few weeks or months of purchase. Is this true? Yes for some laptops. Quality varies and is critical in a laptop. A desktop that sits in a more or less stable environment can be less than bulletproof and survive a long time. A laptop which gets tossed and thrown around a lot must be really rugged to survive. Toshibas seem to be reasonably reliable. >My last question is about >mouse driven software.
