[comp.sys.laptops] productivity with laptops

gordon@news.colorado.edu (GORDON ALLEN R) (02/23/91)

As we all know, Laptops are highly portable. What isn't touted very much is
energy savings features of laptops. In an environment where this is very much
an issue, and the laptops will be relatively nonmobile, does anyone have any
info on the use of laptops as a primary computer and relative productivity
compared with the regular boxes.

Also, what kinds of laptops or other low-power computers allow a full sized,
full featured, 101 key keyboard to be plugged in, along with a full sized
high res. display ( realize that this latter is power hungry). Does anyone
know of large screen flat displays, such as LCD or plasma, that are compatible
with VGA or EGA resolution?

Thanks for your responses.
