Thanks to everyone who replied to my car radio problem. Several people asked to be informed of the results and as I cannot seem to send mail beyond harpo I am posting this. The problem was the replacement spark plugs were not resistor types, nearly everyone said that this would be this case. This was the first time that I had used this mechanic and I will not be going back to him, the tune wasnt very good either, rough idle and pre-ignition have returned already. As a more general question how do you go about finding a good mechanic? A few people in their response mentioned how easy it was to change plugs oneself. I should mention that in the past I used to do all of own car maintenance, but that was when I was a poor student and I did not ENJOY doing it. Now that I can afford to have someone else work on the car I dont mind paying him AS LONG AS HE DOES A GOOD JOB. On a different topic I have one more annoying problem with the 260Z. The tachometer doesnt work properly in hot weather. When the outside temperature gets above 90 and I turn on the engine the tachometer shows it idling at 4000 revs and then over a period of say 10 seconds the needle will creep up to the 9000 mark and stay there. On merely warm days everything is fine at start up but after driving for a couple of hours, when presumably things have gotten very warm under the hood, the tachometer needle will begin to creep around the dial to 9000 and stay there. Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions as to how I can fix it? Again thank you all for your help my radio problem. David Kirkpatrick decvax!ittvax!bunker!kirk
