I have for sale an Epson Equity LT laptop. Here are the details: NEC V30 10MHz chip (100% compatible) 640K Ram Two 720K (3 1/2") floppy drives Serial, Parallel, external floppy ports Rechargeable battery - 5-7 hours with normal screen, 3 hours with super-twist screen. About 1 year old $350 or best offer What's the catch? No screen. You can get the backlit screen for $196 directly from Epson (they have an 800 number for ordering), or ~150 at other mail order places. The reason? I owned this machine and decided I wanted a hard drive on it. I happened to find another Equity LT (without a screen) at a computer used parts store. I took the screen off mine (it simply slides out) and put it on the one I bought and voila! Therefore, you would be buying my OLD computer (without the screen), so I know EXACTLY what condition it is in. ~1 year old, no known problems or visual defects. Just needs a screen. With a screen, you could have a 10MHz XT clone laptop for ~$475-$500. I have been using this machine for about a year. I use Turbo C, which you can get onto 2 disks, if you select only ONE memory model, and that will leave room for and editor and the program you are working on (you have to use TCC instead of TC). I also got Word Perfect 5.1 onto 3 disks. You only need the first two disks for editing. The third disk has the Thesaurus and Spell Checker on it, so you just have to switch out the disk when you need to access those (I can give you the list of files to put onto the disks to make it work). Other packages, like Lotus 123 v2.01, fit onto one 720K disk. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matthew Frohman texbell!digi!mfrohman OR mfrohman@digi.UUCP OR mfrohman@digi.lonestar.org
