[comp.sys.laptops] note-taking, PIM

schoen2@husc9.harvard.edu (Michael Schoen) (04/27/91)

I will soon be getting a notebook computer, and I need some advice.

Two of the things I will be using it for most frequently are note-taking
in classes, and organizing my life.

So, my questions are :

1) Are there any programs designed for note-taking. I could use a standard
word-processor, like Word or WordPerfect, but one designed for daily notes
would be nice.

2) What experiences have you had with the various PIMs around. I am the
manager of our student newspaper, so I'd appreciate one with good business
features also.

Thanks for the help. I'll post a summary if warranted.

I haven't got any comments about a PIM but I've used an old Toshiba T1000
(IBM PC Clone) for note taking a lot. My favorite note taking software is
PC Outline. It's fast enough even on the 4mhz T1000, it's small enough to
fit in the RAM drive, and my note taking style is well suited to producing
an outline.
