Several weeks ago I posted a request for information on Pen-based input for PCs. While I did not get any assistance, I did recieve a number of requests for info. I thought a quick overview of the info I gathered in March would interest you. There are a number of companies in the field. The main players in the US are Go and Microsoft. Also playing are Grid, Scenario, Sony, and Cannon. Sony and Cannon have introduced products in Japan but not yet for export. Grid is both adding pens to its Gridpad PC and working with Go Corp. Go Corp is developing the "PenPoint" operating system, a multitasking os that will not run MS-DOS programs but can use DOS style data files. Go haas a good pool of talent and capital. Major vendors have signed up including IBM, NCR(AT&T?), Olivetti, and Grid. Borland and four others are writing software for it. .....etc. Hope some of you can use this. Ed -- Edward A.
