Most of the major microcomputer corporations like zenith, TI, HP, ATT, IBM, Apple, etc, have a TWO-TIER pricing structure, with a 30-40% GSA discount which benefits the Govt and its contract-holders (like Academia) but shafts the general public and corporations, as well as retail microcomputer operations. Many universities can get similar discounts for student and faculty personal purchases as well.
