We are looking for a laptop to replace the NEC Multispeeds, which are big and slow. These machines will be used in rainforest survey conditions, so we are particularly looking for a display that is readable in both low and high light situations. The Multispeeds are not great in low light, and the Toshiba T1000(?) I used the other day wasnt very good in bright light. Anyone have any recommendations? Our other requirements are: 386 or 286 if necessary. Lighter/Smaller than a the Multispeed (what isnt?) Internal HD (not ram cuz it will be xrayed in customs) A serial port We don't really need a numeric keypad or even an internal floppy disk. Thanks for you patience. (posted for) Guy Carpenter
