With Zenith now announcing their 386SL based notebook and all the press surrounding it, I came across a document in a Japanese technical newspaper that said that the 386SL chip in the Zenith system is apparently Intel's rev. A of the chip and that it has bugs (exactly what bugs were not explained) and that a rev. B version (bug free?) would not be available until late summer '91 or early fall. According to this article, it said that officials from Compaq and Toshiba will be with-holding their entry into the 386SL notebook market until rev. B becomes available. The article also mentioned that the rev. A chip is only being delivered in sample quantity and that full production will not begin until the rev. B chip is completed. Looking out for your dollar...
