I finally got a decent job and now want to fulfil a dream of getting a decent laptop. I want a 386 or 386sx VGA machine with a 2400 baud INTERNAL modem, jack for VGA or EGA external monitor, jack for full-size keyboard, and an external 5 1/4" drive. It's not that essential to have battery power but I assume that that is standard on all laptops. Software is not important as I have all I need already. Any experiences, 1st, 2nd or even 3rd hand would be MUCH appreciated as the choices out there are way more numerous than last I looked carefull a year ago and it all seems very confusing. Many thanks, Philip V. Hull. -- INTERNET: hullp@cogsci.berkeley.edu BITNET: hullp@cogsci.berkeley.bitnet UUCP: ucbvax!cogsci!hullp OR: ucbvax!cogsci.berkeley.edu!hullp

I don't know how many other machines you have a shot at with those qualifications but you're describing my Zenith Supersport Sx to a "T". I run it as my main desk unit with an AT keyboard, a VGA monitor and external 5" floppy drive plugged in to complete the deal. The only time it gets turned off is when I have to take it somewhere on battery power and then I just plug the battery pack onto the bag and bag it. It's heavy, but I like it! -- Jack Wiggins NSTAR conferencing site 219-289-0287/317-251-7391 internet: jackw@nstar.rn.com 1300 newsgroups - 8 inbound lines uucp: ..!uunet!nstar.rn.com!jackw 99 file areas - 4300 megabytes --- backbone news & mail feeds available - contact larry@nstar.rn.com ---
