[net.auto] Fuel Injector Sticking

jmcook@aluxp.UUCP (11/01/83)

My 280ZX ('79, 70Kmiles) has developed a noticeable
loss of power and worsening fuel economy. I've checked
all the normal things, e.g., timing, plugs, air filter,
air leaks, fuel injection sensors, etc., but to no
avail. I've been told that with time, the injectors
develop a tendency to stick ( due to varnish formation, I
assume) and sometimes to leak. I'm wondering if they
can be cleaned by the use of some solvent or such, or if
replacement is mandated.

I'd appreciate any useful replies...it's beginning to
get to a critical stage.
