I have a Toshiba T1000 that has developed an extremely annoying habit of forgetting it's configuration settings. This seems to happen infrequently but may be correlated with my plugging in the charger. The message I get on booting is something like "warning contents of battery backed ram was lost" however I have completely dissassembled the computer down to the motherboard and can't see anything that looks like a battery for saving RAM like the IBM's have. I have the 768K expansion and this seems to be OK, it floats off the main battery and will lose it's contents if the main battery is completely discharged but normally the machine will still remember it's configuration settings (established with the SETUP10 program) even if the main battery is unplugged. I feel there is a crack in the PC board but need a clue as to which chip is actually storing the configurations.
