We bought two (count 'em_ 2) extra batteries last year with our T1000SE. One of them seems to be 'flaky'. It is a shared laptop that is checked out for trips. Whenever I get it, the batteries are so far discharged that it takes 5 minutes for the charging light to even go on. The first time this happened I thought something was broke. Of the three batteries, the one that is flaky seems to not hold a charge all the time. But I'm not sure as I only 'play' with it when I've got a trip pending. When I get it for a trip I take it home a week early and cycle all three batteries up and down a few times. This helps. The flaky battery gets warmer than the others during charging. I have noticed the T1000SE will re-start a charge process if you take a newly charged battery out of the case and put it back in (causing the meter gauge to get confused.) But I worry this 'extra charging' is not needed and bad for the unit. I suspect these Toshiba batteries are not 100% alright and I wonder if I bug Toshiba I might discover a 'hidden' warranty (i.e. if you complain they agreed to a replacement)??? cheers .. joe.f.
