Has anyone found a solution for backing up large disks to tape under SV.3 on 368 machines ? We have a a network of 386's running 386/ix, one with a 300MB ESDI disk, and it's a royal pain to back them all up to 60mB cartriges. I would dearly love to use one of the new 8mm video cassette drives (2GB on one cartidge) that are available for 386 machines, but I come up against the same problem - no drivers. Novell, yes, DOS, yes, UNIX - what's UNIX ? I found one company that has a SCSI version for SUNS, but the driver problem still remains. 1) Has anyone got one of these tape drives to run under SV.3 ? 2) Has anyone tried using the SCSI driver that comes with 386/ix 2.0.1 to run a SCSI version of one of these tape drives?
