I've seen quite a bit of discussion of the 16550A uarts that add FIFO capabilities to standard serial cards. My question is, can these chips replace 8250's directly, or can they only be used in place of the 16450 chips? Bill Kuykendall ...ddsw1!point!wek

Do you need any special drivers to run a 16550 under SCO Xenix?
