Well, after much frustration and effort and the purchase of another smart serial adapter and the purchase of a Telebit T1000 modem, 'adaptex' can now be bi-directional. On adaptex is several MS-DOS utilities that were written for the AHA-1540[A]/1542[A]/1640 SCSI Host Adapters. To get into adaptex: adaptex Any ACU 9600 18174886893 --gin:-BREAK-gin:-BREAK-gin:-BREAK-gin: suucp 'adaptex' will answer at 9600 baud, but will cycle down to 2400 and then 1200 buad, so the reason for the BREAK sequences in the login. To get a list and description of the files at 'adaptex', use: uucp adaptex!~/list /usr/spool/uucppublic/list To obtain any of the files, replace the word 'list' in the above uucp command with the name of the file. NOTE: As these are MS-DOS utilities, the filenames are all upper case. Periodically, these files will be updated. So you may want to snarf the 'list' file from time to time. I will keep the list file current, with update dates in it. Roy Neese Adaptec Central Field Applications Engineer UUCP @ {texbell, attctc}!cpe!adaptex!neese merch!adaptex!neese
