In regards to the '78 Chevette that erraticly drinks oil: If you haven't replaced it recently, change the PCV valve. If it is sticking in the open position, it could create enough vacuum in the valve cover to accumulate oil around the valves. The oil could then get past the valve stem seals and be burned or, worst case, be pulled into the intake manifold thru the (open) PCV valve. Good Luck! -- Pat Vilbrandt John Fluke Mfg. Co., Inc.
