I'm looking for owners of '82 Saabs and I'm interested in knowing if any of
them have had water leakage problems in the rear floor. I have a recurring
problem with water getting under the carpet in front of the right rear
passenger seat. I am not sure where the water is comming from. I'd love
to benefit by someone else's experience.

Attn: '82 Saab Owners

If the pipe running from the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter
breaks (especially if it simply shears off at the coupling to the manifold,
Saab will cover the work under warranty. Don't let your dealer charge you
for the work. It is covered under an 'unpublicized' extended warranty.
Apparantly the pipe was not redesigned when the catalytic converter was
inserted into the exhaust system and the extra weight (~25lbs) puts a
strain on the pipe causing premature failure.
