[comp.unix.i386] Tape Drive, ISC2.0.2

tim@comcon.UUCP (Tim Brown) (12/23/89)

I have seen alot of discussion about tape drives, I wonder if someone
could advise me on this. I am in the market for a tape drive with 125
meg capability for my system(s). What is the hot setup from the driver
stand point and that works(!) ? I must rule out SCSI unless it can be
proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that the controller would co-exist
with a standard controller, specifically ESDI or RLL. The ESDI is a
wd1007wa and the RLL is an adaptec 2372. It also has to be media
compatible with the wangtek (everex) device we currently have. That last
point is very important, we must be able to remove the tape from the
wangtek (DC600) and restore from the (?other one).

Thanks.
