Has any one used the AMI 386/25 board under Interactive with any dual ported memory boards? We just got one and the documentation doesnt give any way to disable caching over say, 12 meg to facilitate the installation of a shared memory board. The documentation states that only the main memory (32) is cached, and any dual ported memory on the bus is not cached. Does this really work? Forgive me for not believing, but after TONS of trouble with MYLEX and the NON FUNCTIONAL cach address range disable, it is hard to believe in anything! I have an AMI 33 Mhz board and we were using an intelligent serial card with 64K of memory at address 0xe00000 (15th meg) without any real problems. We eventually found somewhere to stuff it into the 640K-1M section so that we could turn on our full 16M of memory. The stuff was functional but I can't guarrantee that memory at 0xe00000 is now being cached (not easy to test under unix) but it was not being cached when we used the intelligent serial card. -- +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Conor P.
