My '70 and my '74 was/is a bit hard shifting when quite cold: I've always attributed it to the viscosity of the transmission lube. Don't forget: it's a combination transmission and differential, so there's quite a bit of lube in there. More, probably, than in an (ugh!) rear-wheel drive car, where the transmission and differential are in separate boxes. Thus, it'll take a bit longer to get the lube up to temperature. I suggest not worrying, as long as you feel your SAAB tech can be trusted to use the right weight of gear lube. Ray Albers (SAAB nut) hou2f!rayalb CSO Holmdel
