POSTED TO COMP.UNIX For those of you out there looking for REAL world data about the speed of various modem types in a UUCP environment .. here is that output from "uutraf" -- a uucp traffic analyzer (credits at end of post). Note the following... My system is running a Telebit T2500 on a 16550A controlled serial port , the FASY driver under Interactive Unix 2.0.2 on a 16 MHZ 386. In all cases, there was no major load on either system. The outgoing UUCP connection was locked into 19200 with the modem using hardware flow control to match the remote connection speed.
