[net.auto] Any SAAB fanatics on the net?

I'm also curious about that transmission problem. I've seen it lately
in my '77 Datsun F10, 5-speed, when the weather here in Colorado has
been below zero. The first shift into R, 1, and 2 is tough, requiring
excessive force. I'll bet it's just cold oil, though it's hard to see
how that could make shifting difficult.

Look, I'm a generic Saab fanatic who could go on forever about
how great my car is. etc.
But after 30K miles on my `82 900, I'm feeling a little resistance
in the up-shifting from first to second and second to third when
the transmission is cold. All is it's normal great self after ten
minutes of motoring. Could the synchro be wearing this soon?
Is the oil soooooo thick when cold that it needs to "warm up".
(We're talking San Francisco, it's not that cold).
Any idea? This did occur immediately after my 30k tweak-up,
but my buddy, the Saab tech, says it's only co-incidence.

If anyone has a 1978-1981 Geneal Motors diesel car...you have
"the largest lemon in automotive history."

I own one. I should know. Did anyone catch 20/20 on ABC Thursday
January 19th? They laid the story down straight.

I would be most happy to answer any questions or provide what help
I can to solve the problem.

I do know a few ways to those who are interested. I have owned my
1980 Olds Cutlass Supreme (diesel) for 18 months and have put
$2,500 in repairs on the engine alone.

GM knows they ****ed up.. and they are most willing to settle
with the owners.

If you happen to live in a state (there's 22 of `em) which has a
`lemon law'..check into it!

I therefore submit this to any/all GM diesel owner (circa. 1978-1981)
who wants to get even.
