Hello all ... I am running a system with: Logitech Bus Mouse VGA 8 Port intelligent Serial card com1: and com2: with a 16550A on com2: Telebit T2500 Zoom 2400 SCSI tape and 80mg HD Perstore with a 146mg and a 76mg HD ISC 2.0.2 with all x* updates Ever since I installed the FASY serial driver (patch 1) into the system to control the 16550A I have had the following.. At random times, the system will appear to lock up! I cannot use the console keyboard (but it WILL take the CTRL-SYSRQ-F1 sequence! and change VT's) ..... my local terminal is dead at these times , as is I/O to the modems. The system/kernal is runningt because cron jobs will execute during these intervals, so it is just something with the tty I/O system. Anyone else have a similar problem ?? I like the driver otherwise.. **************************************************************************** Everything I say is Copr. 1990, except the stuff I stole from someone else and the stuff I don't want responsibility for. I'm running with the 2.05 FASY drivers here at nstar without problems. Are you running the drivers with the X5 ISC drivers? I had problems with BOTH of them in the kernel - and since replacing the X5 with the FASY - everything is working like a charm (in all honesty, I don't use the dumb ports on a regular basis - and neither dumb port has a 16550). -- Larry Snyder, Northern Star Communications, Notre Dame, IN USA uucp: larry@nstar -or- ...!iuvax!ndmath!nstar!larry 4 inbound dialup high speed line public access system
