[comp.unix.i386] Console cursor goes away...

toma@attctc.Dallas.TX.US (Tom Armistead) (02/17/90)

I just received a new version of DELL Unix (version 1.1) I think this
corresponds to ISC 2.0.2, and I am having a problem with the cursor
occasionaly being turned off on the console. I have had this same problem
with the _real_ ISC 2.0.2.

When cat'ing long files or moving around alot at the Unix prompt. The
cursor sometimes gets turned off. I can switch to another virtual terminal
and then switch back and the cursor is turned back on. Sometimes it gets
turned back on just by moving around at the Unix prompt again???

I am running a Dell System 386/25mhz with a CGA monitor and video card (SUNTEK).
When I replace the video card and monitor with DELL's VGA combo, the problem
goes away??? (I need the VGA on another system and am stuck with the CGA...)

Has anyone heard of or seen this problem???

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Tom
