[comp.unix.i386] Interface between IP and Network provider

hba@iff.rci.dk (Henrik Ballermann) (03/06/90)

I am looking for a describtion of the interface between Interactive Systems
implementation of IP (a STREAMS multiplexer driver) and the network provider
linked under IP (like a ethercard driver). I know of llc.h and lihdr.h which
defines operations and message formats, but I miss a protocol describtion.

I case you know of such document please respond by mail.

Let me mention a new book that just hit the bookstore.
  UNIX NETWORK PROGRAMING
  by W. Richard Stevens
  Published by the Prentice Hall

A good book like Douglas Comer's TCP/IP only with more details and
examples of codeing the protocols. Very good chapter on STEAMS with
sockets and does make references to ISC implementation. Just got
  mine today.
