I just add another phone line and I am still asking same questions but I dont get complete answer. I would like to know how to set up HST in modem for /etc/getty. Also please include gettydefs. I have ix/386 2.0.2 Update X5. If you don't know how to print out of HST S-registers, use cu -l tty00 | tee hst.output I am still very anxious to get HST to work with getty. Thank you for your time. willy

It is getting closer but I am getting garbage. It is not baudrate problem but it looks like flow control problem. Sometime I can read only one word and others are all garbage. My HST is older than HST Dual Standard so what is the difference between HST DS or 14.4 and older HST. Any ideas? willy

Yes - make sure you program the modem and right the registers to NRAM at the SAME baud rate that you are locked the DTE between the modem and the computer at. If not, you will get the problem you describe (or at least I did). -- The Northern Star Public Access Unix Site, Notre Dame, Indiana USA uucp: iuvax!ndmath!nstar!larry internet: larry@nstar USR HST 219-287-9020 * PEP 219-289-3745 * Hayes V9600 219-289-0286
