I would like to know if anyone has had the same trouble with a 1982
Rabbit that I had? The problem started with the motor stalling, Then we
had a fire under the car in the catalytic convertor. The carb. was replaced
to fix the poor gas mileage (20mpg), and stop any future fires, and improve
power. The fires went away, but gas mileage and power still were very
poor. (18-20mpg). The car had 1800 miles on it at the time the troubles
started.
If you own a 1982 Rabbit what is your gas mileage, and have you had
as many problems as I have. This is only a carb. motor I'm interested
in. By the way I sold the car back to the Dealer for what we paid.
The only good luck we had with this car.
