What are the 'gotcha's in looking for 80386 boxes to run Unix? And how can you test for them? Are all 80386 boxes the same, or are there some vital features? Things such as: - Failing to support 'first party dma' (for SCSI controllers) - 16-bit VGA boards which are really only 8-bits - Not using the double-sigma 80386 - Pushing clock speed beyond chip spec - Running the AT-bus faster than 8MHz - BIOS lying about FPU presense Please reply and I will summarize -- Dave Bullis Cognos, Inc VOICE: (613) 738-1440 3755 Riverside Dr. P.O.
