[net.followup] HOOOOoo BOY!!! This is REALLY getting amusing.

davidl@tekig5.UUCP (David Levadie) (02/01/85)

Usually after exciting a newsgroup with a transient I just sit back
to enjoy the oscillations, but somehow I can't resist the following:

-> (I would, however, like to contact your supervisor for a real heart to
-> heart about your apparent attitiude problem :-).

-> ...giving you the thrashing that you obviously never recieved as a child
-> (make that ...you haven't recieved as a child...). One of the MAJOR
-> problems with the net is the presence of children masquerading as adults,
-> and demanding that they be allowed to say any thing that wafts across their
-> little minds in any news group that strikes their fancy, with no though to
-> the possible consequences and/or costs.

-> For David and Frank: Grow up, personal attacks and slurs will get
-> you nowhere useful (and may cause you some discomfort, both personal
-> and professional).

MY, my... steam, fume... Mr. Woods certainly seems to be the authority
on who has an attitude problem and who doesn't, and who is a child and
who isn't, and who needs some authoritarian intervention, etc., etc...
Tsk, tsk. Typical system administrator type.

-> I don't think that Mr. Levadie is even trying to hold water with his flame.
-> Isn't this the same gentleman (a misnomer, if ever I saw one) who advocated
-> posting sources requests to net.sources. I guess he is just one of those
-> discontented individuals who has to attempt at ruining the network for every-
-> one else. Ignore him. It works best.
-> From your local Net Nazi (Mr. Levadie thinks so!),

Well, Peter, you got MOST of it right. However, the network is CLEARLY
not important enough to bother trying to ruin. I AM having a lot of fun
throwing pennies in the animal cage, though... FURTHERMORE, for the Nth
time, get it STRAIGHT, it was NOT YOU I was calling a net nazi!!! If you
keep INSISTING it was you, I'm going to start wondering why!!!

(Rosen, are you watching all this? I can't BELIEVE you haven't joined
the fray.)

YAAAAAAAAaawwwwwwnnnnnn.............

On a closing note, I got a hilarious 2-page article from somebody else
detailing his miseries with system administrators, and his speculations
on what will happen when they are able to start "moderation wars" with
each other. ("YOU, sir, have been 100% MODERATED!!!"). I hope he'll put
the whole thing out here, but, in any case, here's the last line -

in public office; now I know that the worst thing in the world
is a computer nerd with an opinion."

Sounds self referential to me.
