Some help please with my problem, if possible: I want to install 386/ix on a 386SX machine with Phoenix N1.10.12 BIOS and a Conner CP3184 Hard Disk (84Meg, IDE interface), but the BIOS doens't support my disk (although the larger Conner IDE models are supported :-( ). The guys at Conner Tech Support told me to configure the disk as any BIOS list entry of similar capacity; I found one with 1024 cylinders * 9 heads * 17s/tr. (my disk is 832 * 6 * 33), but I wonder whether this is OK or not, since UNIX installation deals with cylinders... What can I do (maybe instruct the BIOS how to recognise my disk ? ). Also: is the 386/ix 'reformating' a low level one (IDE expects to find its own low level format on the disk and I don't want to mess it up !)
