[comp.unix.i386] gcc

trw@aplcen.apl.jhu.edu (Weil timothy) (06/06/90)

GCC under ESIX (the saga continues...)

Have libraries built in /usr/local (/lib & /bin) with GCC binaries
installed...(though no documentation found!).

Current problem show here
       gcc -ansi -o copy.o -B copy.c

compiles without error but fails in linkage with following
remark
ld: malformed input file (not rel or archive) copy.o

What's next? It would be nice to conference with ESIX
users who are running GCC on a regular basis...thanks

Being new to the Xenix / Unix environment, I am unfamiliar with many
of the software products discussed on the net.

Who makes gcc and where can I get a copy. (what price range too!)

thanks.

gcc is the GNU C Compiler. It is free. Source code is available from many
sites including UUNET. It is also available from the Free Software Foundation
(the organization running the GNU project) at a relatively small cost. I
don't have the number available.

gcc is available for free from several sources including my BBS (number
in the signature line).
