[net.auto] emergency kits

wct@mordor.UUCP (Bill Thompson) (02/17/84)

I highly recommend a fire extinquisher as part of everyone's
emergency kit. It is surprising how fast an auto can go up
in flames--yet how quickly a fire could have been extinquished
by an extinquisher when the fire first started.

Add to that a first aid kit and a Red Cross course if you really
want to be prepared.

on fire extinguishers, just don't get heroic about using it, a gas tank
can make a big boom without very much warning. get the fire fast, but
otherwise head for cover.
