[comp.unix.i386] Boot Disk

Heres something I was wondering about. I have a 386-33 with Interactive
386ix installed (2.0.2). The distribution disks are on 5.25 (1.2 Meg)
diskettes. I want to get a full backup copy of the diskettes onto
3.5 if possible (1.44). The standard package diskettes I know can
be simply copied by mounting the file system. The only disk which is
actually special is the boot disk. I know that you can mount the
file system on the boot disk if you mount it as a /dev/fxxxxd device
and not a /dev/fxxxxdt device. But the boot sector (sector 0?)
can't be read or copied. What is the easiest and simplest way to
make a 3.5 Boot Install Diskette? I've just messed around with a little
with things like 'dd if=5.25 of=3.5 count=1' to see if I could grab
the boot sector but I doesn't seem to work at all.

Can anybody make a recommendation? It would really be nice to have
the Diskettes available on 3.5.
