When I lived in Texas, I used to drive between Austin and
Dallas all the time. I used to flash my high-beams to get
people to move over and it worked <almost> every time.
Since I only drove about 70 mph or so I had people do it to
me on several occasions and again it was no problem, I just
tromped on the gas, hurried up to pass the car in the right
lane, and moved over out of the way. I always thought that
flashing highbeams in this manner was universal, unless
it came from someone coming from the opposite direction when
it would mean "Shut off your d*amn brights; you're
blinding me you *ss !!! "

Curious, these Texans. When I was in San Antonio last year,
the natives thought I was out of my gourd to walk 10 blocks
(admitedly dangerous with so few sidewalks), but they'll do a
drive like that at the drop of a Stetson. Austin to Dallas
must be about 350 miles.

Another tip when driving in Texas: The pick-up truck has the
right-of-way. This is a corllary of "The right-of-way isn't
something you have, it's something you get, and if you don't
get it, you ain't got it."
