It is about that time, to purchase tires for my `82 Supra (with performance package) and I was wondering if any netters with the same vehicle or similiar had any specific recommendations or warnings about specific brands and types of tires. The one's currently on the car are the Dunlop performance tires that came with it, I have been completely pleased with their performance and life (32K+ RAM [random auto miles]). If you have a recommendation or just anything that may be of interest along these lines please respond by mail. (I have not ruled out getting another set of the Dunlops, just wanted to hear of alternatives, the few places that I have priced them they were not very inexpensive comparatively speaking.) Thanks in advance, Tom Maupin ...} !sb1!scbhq!moctem PS --> the size is 225 60 14's, in case you were wondering PSS --> If you have had any experience with mail order tires i would welcome that info also. Buckle up and live longer to drive further....

I have had very good luck with Pirelli P8 tires (My front wheel drive car has worn the front set a bit faster than the rears but that's normal) and after 30000 miles they appear to be quite capable of going at least another 15 or 20K with rotation. They are fantastic on dry and wet roads but only so-so on snow. -- Gary Wasserman ...harpo!inmet!grw ...hplabs!sri-unix!cca!ima!inmet!grw ...yale-comix!ima!inmet!grw
