I'm trying to get a Microsoft serial mouse to run under ESIX revision D with X windows on a Compaq 386/20E. The mouse is plugged into the special mouse port on the Compaq, but I'm not certain if that port is treated as COM1 or ?? If you remove the cover from the Compaq, a handy little note above the drive bays says: Jumper E4 1-2 Enable IRQ12, disable mouse interface 2-3 Enable mouse interface Just how does this tie in with X windows/device drivers for the kernal?? Yes, I've run xconfig and told it that I have a microsoft serial mouse in COM1, but when I invoke X windows, the mouse is still DOA. I went ahead and set the E4 jumper so that IRQ12 was enabled, and then modified the /etc/conf/pack.d/asy driver so that the COM1 driver used IRQ12 instead of IRQ3, but that didn't help any either. Any help would be appreciated. Jerry Pierce
