My place of employment has recently put in a LAN running 3Com+ software. We also have a Unix system that part of the company runs on and we wish to get a mail connection between it and the LAN. We do not have any current plans to link the Unix system with the LAN via ethernet, or a mail link would be easier, but what we would like to do is transfer mail serially. The serial link itself is not the problem, but rather how do we merge ascii mail into 3Coms mail data files and how do we create ascii files from 3Coms data files. I'm told by our resident LAN administrator that this is the main problem. If anyone is aware of any software or has any ideas on how we would do this, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
