[comp.unix.i386] ISC 2.0.2 uucico dumps core

rk@theep.boston.ma.us (Robert A. Kukura) (08/17/90)

Uucico on my ISC 386/ix 2.0.2 system with Basic Networking-Version
2.0.0 dumps core for no apparent reason. This happens at least once a
day on average for each of my hourly-polled uucp connections. I
suspect some jobs are being lost because of occasional email that
never seems to get delivered and news postings that don't get out.

This happens with both 2400 baud and TB+ modems, with and without
hardware flow control, with the old asy driver, the X6 driver, and the
FAS driver, and with various kinds of systems on the other end of the
connection. I've seen it happen when uucico is run under Uutry, in
which case there are no "alarms", just an "abort" message.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Is there a solution?
