[comp.unix.i386] dbm for ISC 2.2

randyt@asdnet.idhub.com (Randy Terbush) (08/17/90)

Being without dbm on this System V Unix seems to be a
disadvantage. Would anyone try to convince me that it is
not a disadvantage?

Can someone suggest a way to add the dbm library?

Where can I find the necessary source to accomplish this?

Is dbz an acceptable alternative? It seems to work well
for cnews.

Thanks

Dbz is a very fast but limited subset of dbm (although I've been
thinking about adding more functions). For general use, I'd recommend
the gnu dbm or sdbm.
