With the version I have (4.1) scsicntl responds "Could not get local enquiry data from adaptor". Does anyone know what you have to do to get scsicntl to work with the Adaptec 1542B? The system does work under SCO Xenix 2.3.2. But I suspect that read ahead is not enabled and want to check. I'd like to get the current release of the scsicntl.exe program. Hello All, Here is some info on what happened to Roy. I was in a discussion with one of the engineers at Adaptec the other day, and happend to bring up Roy's name. I was informed that Roy Neese had moved out of the technical department and into upper sales management (which gave Roy a nice pay increase). It seems that on top of being a techie, Roy has a business degree, and as we all know money talks. So Roy is still with Adaptec, but is now in management... Well there are rumours and there are rumours. But Roy is apparently still working for Adaptec and adaptex is supposed to be back online next week. So I guess we can all breath a sigh of relief and hold off returning all of our Adaptec hardware at least until then :-) Whatever you do, don't under any circumstances phone the California tech support number unless you like getting a recorded announcement telling you to contact your distributor, or if he can't help you to pass his name and number to them so they can educate him. Thanks but no thanks! Perhaps some friendly system vendors could help Roy get a system to use at home that's not subject to politics.
