if you're running X windows under SCO, try issuing the "talk" command. it doesn't matter who you try to talk to, but if your /etc/utmp doesn't have an entry for your X terminal pseudo tty, you'll get a funny error message. maybe my sense of humor is deluded, but check it out anyway, eh? /* eli@pws.bull.com 617 932 5598 fax 508 294 0101 */

Credit where credit is due, unless the message is funnier than "You don't exist. Go away.", which is the message that 4.3BSD's "talk" issues in that case....
