I just bought a 1984 Toyota Celica ST. The car is great and I am
enjoying it immensly, but whenever the RPMs get to around 2800-3000 in
1st or 2nd gear, I hear a crunching sound coming from the front of the
car. This only happens once the car warms up and I've only driven it
~400 miles.
I mentioned this to the dealer who sold me the car, and he said to wait
until the mileage gets around 1000 before worrying. According to him
(and I hope he's right), this problem could be due to the "newness" of
the car. I've never owned a new car before, so I don't have experience
to guide me. Could anyone out there help me out? Is the dealer right?
Should I wait till the mileage builds up a bit more?
Thanks in advance.
