Request for Information CDC Cyber 180 Applications Software I am engaged in some research relating to the pricing, availability, characteristics and use of some CDC supplied software for CDC Cyber 180/810/830 machines and would appreciate replies from any past or current users of these packages. I believe that these packages were originally supplied under CYBERNET service offerings while that system was in use. Software use licences were possible later sold to individual sites. If anybody has ever used or acquired for use at their site any of these packages, I would appreciate a reply that indicates, where possible, the package in question, the price paid either for a site lease, or for use on a service bureau, and a brief description of the package in terms of its basic functionality, its usual application, and how it compares to newer non-CDC products, such as PC based software, or to similar products that run on other manufacturers equipment. The list of the software products of interest is as follows... FIPAC - Financial Planning and Control PMCS - Project Management STRESS - Structural Engineering System Solver COMPAID - Project Control System STATS - Market Research Statistical Analysis FINE - Interactive Financial Calculations For sites that have implemented any of this software locally, I would appreciate a description of the scale of the user community supported, in terms of the number of active users and some statement of the overall quantity of data used. Please reply via email to the address listed below. Thanks to all respondants, Iain B. Findleton 514-421-4701 aspfibf@cid.aes.doe.ca
