I would like to go to graduate school soon in some field that allows me to work on environmental problems and to work with molecular biology. I would prefer to work with plants or bacteria rather than with animals, but would be willing to consider interesting work involving animals. Specific areas of interest include (but are not limited to); molecular basis of pollution/ disease resistance in plants, genetic engineering of plants for increased yeild/resistance ect, engineering of bugs to degrade pollutants, and uses of molecular techniques to monitor environmental effects of pollutants. If you know of/are in a good program which seems appropriate I would appreciate a note about it including how to contact the school involved. Also I am interested in relevant jobs. (I have a BA in biology from Reed College and have 1.5 years experience as a molecular bio. lab tech. I can send you a resume if you are interested...).
