Hi,
A freind of mine showed me the following notice, and I
thought a few of you maybe interested.

---- URGENT IFAW MEMBER ALERT ----

THE WORLD'S SECOND LARGEST SEA TURTLE NESTING AREA
IS ABOUT TO BE WIPED OUT BY DEVELOPMENT!

Dear IFAW Member:

The specter of development is threatening to overrun the most
important sea turtle nesting beach in the United States.

Please write to Senator Robert C.Byrd, (WV) Chairman of the
Senate Interior Appropriations Subcommittee, immediately Tell him to
support an initial appropriation of ten million dollars to purchase
land for the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge on Florida's central
east coast.

The vote on this matter is imminent, so please act immediately.
Explain to Senator Byrd that the land is already up for sale and in
danger of being bulldozed and developed. If this happens, a national
treasure with as many as 12,000 loggerhead turtle nests, 40% of the
endangered U.S. green sea turtles, and numerous threatened species of
plants and animals will be wiped out.

Please contact Senator Byrd TODAY as well as your own senators...
		tomorrow may be too late.

				Brian Davies,
				Founder.

Address your letters to:

		The Honorable Robert C. Byrd,
		United States Senate,
		Washington, DC 20510.

A letter takes 5 minutes. Extinction is forever. Please write today.

	* If protected, these nests could produce
over ONE MILLION hatchlings per year!
