xxx I saw one episode of "Call to Glory" and can understand why it was cancelled. This episode dealt with a white Air Force colonel and black enlisted man, who were captured by the North Vietnamese. The show dealt with alot of civil rights and human rights types of issues, which I think are good types of issues to put on TV. Now why dosen't this show sell? I think there are 2 reasons. First, the conservative types who want to see blood-and-guts type war shows don't want human rights problems amplified and certainly don't want to watch them on TV. Second, the bleeding-hearts don't want to have to watch an imperialist war show to get to see human rights issues. Now, who's left to watch the show? Apparently no one. -- Kenton Lee Bell Labs - WB ihnp4!wbscc!kfl or ihnp4!hoxna!kfl

Does anyone have the address of ABC's programming director? Better yet, how about the addresses for CBS, NBC, and PBS too? Maybe one of them would be willing to pick up this high-quality program and put it somewhere in their weekly schedule where it might stand more of a chance in the ratings. -- John Bruner (S-1 Project, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) MILNET: jdb@mordor.ARPA [jdb@s1-c] (415) 422-0758 UUCP: ...!ucbvax!dual!mordor!jdb ...!decvax!decwrl!mordor!jdb
