[sci.military] Trouble with attributions

military@cbnews.ATT.COM (William B. Thacker) (01/24/89)

Argh !

Okay, today I was very careful... every article I posted had a
"From:" line reflecting the original author. Nonetheless,
two of the 23 postings ignored this line and instead attributed
the article to me.

I will try to find out why Pnews insists on doing this. In the
interim, to avoid any confusion, let me suggest a couple simple
rules:

1) All those submitting articles please, PLEASE, include a signature
at the end. If you don't want to use a .signature file (or can't),
at least write your name at the end. This will allow some identification
should the article be misattributed.

2) If I have written an article, you can be sure it will end with my
.signature. If it doesn't, I didn't write the article, despite the
header.

Hopefully, this will avoid future confusion.
