From: military@att.att.com (Bill Thacker) A friend of mine gave me another possible insight as to the source of the name "Phantom Corps." He suggested that that may be a US-based unit which stores most of its equipment in Europe; a division might keep one battalion of its equipment stateside for training, with the rest overseas.
