(who said only salmon go upriver to spawn...) PDX is a liberty port, with these ships timed to arrive for the Festival. One of the highlights of their arrival is for Portlanders, tourists, etc. to sign up and board the vessels at the mouth of the Columbia River at Astoria and cruise the Columbia and Willamette Rivers to the docking at the sea wall. Especially the Canadian ships for the reason that the likker-locker seems never to be locked...
